School Uniform
At Whitley Village School, we place a lot of value on our pupils looking smart and taking pride in their appearance. Wearing the appropriate school uniform is a key part of representing our school, setting the example we would like others to see and preparing the pupils for the next phase of their education at high school. We have, however, taken into account that times are tough and uniform can be expensive. Therefore, please ensure that your child has the uniform listed below, which we feel is fair but appropriate:
White, short-sleeved polo-neck t-shirts
Grey or black trousers, shorts, skirts or pinafore dresses
Blue and white checked dresses (summer term only)
Blue cardigan or jumper WITH the school logo on
Grey, black or white socks or tights
Black, sensible shoes, trainers, or boots (trainers must NOT have any coloured soles or symbols, such as ticks or stripes)
PE Kits: white t-shirt and black or navy shorts. Trainers and a tracksuit for outdoor PE.
With the exception of the jumpers and cardigans (which must show the school logo), the rest of our uniform can be purchased from most supermarkets and large clothing retailers at a very reasonable cost. Personalised uniform (jumpers and cardigans with logo) can be bought from our Uniform provider; Uniformity with delivery to home or school. We encourage parents to purchase a book bag, which should last for many years of your child's time with us. Again this can be purchased from our Uniform Provider, Uniformity http://www.uniformityschools.com
Parents need to ensure that all clothing is clearly marked with their child's name ~ including shoes and coats!
Children are not allowed to wear jewellery in school for safety reasons, with the exception of one pair of small stud earrings.
We would ask that children who have long hair wear it tied back to prevent the spread of head lice. School is unable to authorise a child to be absent with head lice.
