Religious Education Curriculum Intent
Our Religious Education (RE) curriculum at Whitley Village School is designed to foster an inclusive and respectful learning environment where pupils develop a deep understanding of diverse religious beliefs, practices, and values. Grounded in the principles of tolerance, empathy, and open-mindedness, our curriculum aims to promote spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development for all pupils.
We strive to provide a rich and engaging RE curriculum that encourages critical thinking, reflection, and dialogue. Through a well-rounded exploration of major world religions, including Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Judaism, and Buddhism, our pupils will develop a broad understanding of the beliefs that shape individuals and communities globally. We also recognise the importance of exploring non-religious worldviews, promoting an understanding and appreciation of different perspectives.
Our curriculum is designed to empower pupils to make informed choices, respect diversity, and contribute positively to a pluralistic society.
