Wk ending 7.10.16

This week in class 1 we all enjoyed being authors and writing our own stories based on 'Charlie the Chicken.' Some of our characters had some great adventures including travelling on motorways, delivering deliveries and going on holiday! The children have worked extremely hard this week on adding two numbers together using a number line. They completed some brilliant problem solving using number balances. Reception also completed some amazing addition and some children even had a go at writing their own number sentences! A special mention to all of the children in Mrs Hirst's phonics group who have all been working extremely hard this week. They have been working so hard, on Friday they had a phonics party with popcorn to celebrate their success.

In celebration assembly this week we celebrated Kirsten for all her excellent behaviour and great listening, and Lewis for excellent behaviour for learning. He is being a super Year 1 and both of them are excellent role models.

This week we will be learning all about the adventures of Leaf Man. If you find any unusual leaves, conkers, helicopter leaves or acorns, please bring them in for us to look at and investigate.
