Wk ending 25.3.16

Date: 28th Mar 2016 @ 10:16pm

Well we might have only been in for four days this week but we certainly managed to fit lots in. This week the year 1 children have been working really hard with their assessments. We have assessed the children's reading, writing, spelling, punctuation and grammar. They have all done extremely well and I am really proud of all their achievements. Well done everyone.

On Wednesday we visited pre school and enjoyed getting creative with Easter crafts and then taking part in an Easter egg hunt. The children behaved really well and they all enjoyed their visit. On Wednesday afternoon we enjoyed a special Easter assembly with Collette the vicar. She told us all the Easter story and brought in some props for us to help bring the story alive.

We enjoyed lots of Easter activities in our provision this week including phonics egg building, pattern making with Easter stamps and some excellent Easter problem solving with eggs and nests. We also finished some stunning sea themed art work. We tweeted a photo of it and the National Gallery liked our photo!

On Thursday afternoon we took part in Whitley Village schools first ever Easter egg hunt. We had loads of fun and we each got an Easter egg!

Well done to this weeks stars:

William for excellent progress in writing.

Jacob for being a really kind friend to the preschool children.

I hope you have all enjoyed your four days off after such a busy week. I am looking forward to another amazing week in class 1. I'm hoping that everyone continues to be the best they can be this week.

Miss Keegan.
